Patrick Jacobs, Ph.D. earned his doctorate at the University of Miami. He is currently on faculty with the Department of Exercise Science and Health Promotion at Florida Atlantic University. Patrick is a Licensed Athletic Trainer (State of Florida). At The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis he is leading studies on Exostim, an advanced electrical stimulation system that allows for a decrease in the incidences of secondary disease in people with spinal cord injury. He has also recently done research on vibration training and the history of the hand-held model that has proliferated in many urban retail centers. Patrick’s writing has been featured in numerous publications including the Journal of Neural Engineering, American Journal of Sports Medicine, Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research and more.

Dara Wittenberg is a Certified Endurance Coach with USAT, USAC, USATF and RRCA. She has been a personal trainer for 10 years and a triathlon coach for seven. Dara has trained several athletes for whom fitness, health, and their sports must fit into very busy lives. Her clientele includes full time mothers, office workers, school teachers and entrepreneurs. The goal is to help them strike a balance between training to their maximum potential and balancing the various other aspects of their lives, as well as to provide motivation to perform at their best. These clients have done everything from complete their first 5k or sprint triathlon to qualify for the Boston Marathon and win age group awards in Ironman triathlons.
